Malaysia Airlines took delivery of six Airbus A380 megajets. The first aircraft entered the fleet in May 2012. These aircraft have a non-standard livery, used only on the airline's A380s.
Airbus handed over A380 MSN 94 to Malaysia Airlines in February 2013 as 9M-MNE. Sister aircraft 9M-MNF was the 100th A380 Airbus delivered.
The A380 was not a success in Malaysia Airlines service. It appeared too big for the airon hadline. The airline tried to find another role for the aircraft: flying moslim pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. In July 2021, the airline put its six A380s up for sale.
