Airbus A330-200 - Swiss International Air Lines
Swiss International Air Lines is the successor of defunct Swissair. The old airline became victim of overambitious acquisitions of other airlines. It took over Sabena, AOM/Air Liberté and LTU, but none of these airlines were very profitable. Swissair dived into financial trouble and ceased flying on 2 October 2001.
A new Swiss International Air Lines was formed from the regional airline Crossair. It took over sixteen A330-200s from the Swissair fleet, of which nine are still in service. The picture shows a Swiss A330-200 departing Zürich Kloten Airport.
