Boeing 747-8F - Atlas Air
Atlas Air is an American cargo airline, operating charters and scheduled flights on behalf of other airlines. The airline was founded in 1992 and started operations a year later with a single Boeing 747-200 freighter. The airline offered aircraft leases to other airlines on an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) contract basis, also known as "wet leasing".
In 1998 Atlas Air's first Boeing 747-400F was delivered. In 2011, Atlas Air took delivery of its first three Boeing 747-8F freighters. Later it ordered six additional aircraft. With more than thirty aircraft in service (747-400s and 747-8Fs) Atlas Air is the world's largest operator of Boeing 747 freighters.
