Boeing 767-200ER - Air Aruba

Air Aruba was founded in 1986 and during the 1990s became the leading airline of the island of Aruba. Air Aruba started in 1986 as a ground handling agent and commenced commercial flights with YS-11 turboprops within the Carribbean in 1988. Later it began intercontinental flights to Amsterdam and Cologne, at first together with Air Holland but later by itself. Air Aruba was declared bankrupt in 2000.

Air Aruba flew several types of narrowbody aircraft. The only widebody model in the fleet became the Boeing 767. In 1991 and 1992 the airline flew a total of three 767s for short periods: two 767-200ERs and one 767-300ER. The photograph above shows an Air Holland 767-200ER in Air Aruba livery. On the photograph below a 767-200ER is seen in basic Air New Zealand livery, which looks quite like Air Aruba's own colour scheme. Both pictures were taken at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
