Boeing 767-300 - SAS Scandinavian Airlines

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System), is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. In 1946 Det Danske Luftfartselskab A/S, Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik AB and Det Norske Luftfartselskap AS combined their transatlantic services. Cooperation on domestic and European services started in 1948 when the Swedish airline AB Aerotransport enforced the partnership. In 1951 the airlines merged and formed SAS, Scandinavian Airlines System.

Today's airline has its headquarter at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden and its main hub at Kastrup, Copenhagen Airport. Smaller hubs are Oslo Gardermoen and Stockholm Arlanda. SAS was and still is user of several widebody aircraft types: Boeing 747 and 767, McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and Airbus A300. Today it flies the Airbus A330 and A340.

SAS flew the 767-200ER and 767-300ER. Of the former it operated only two aircraft for a short time, from 1990 through 1993. Of the 767-300ER sixteen aircraft were in service from 1989 through 2004. The photographs show SAS 767-300ERs in the early Star Alliance colours (above) and in standard livery (below).
