Boeing 777-200ER - Air France
Air France, one of the three biggest airlines in Europe, was founded in 1933 as the result of a merger of five French aviation companies. After World War II the company was nationalized and Société Nationale Air France was formed on 1 January 1946.
In January 1990 all government-owned French airlines (Air France, Air Inter, Air Charter and UTA) were merged into the Air France Group. In June 2000 Air France became a founder member of the Skyteam Alliance and in 2004 joined forces with the Dutch national airline KLM to form Air France-KLM.
The Air France fleet includes a large number of widebody aircraft. Part of it are the Boeing 777-200 and 777-300 of which the airline ordered a total of 41, all of the ER-versions (Extended Range). Air France was the first airline to put the 777-300ER in service and is also the launch customer for the 777F Freighter. The picture shows a 777-200ER at Air France's homebase Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
