Boeing 777 - Vietnam Airlines
The Boeing 777's of Vietnam Airlines undoubtedly belong to the most remarkably painted examples of the type. Vietnam Airlines is a rather new airline in the long-haul air travel market and becoming a major regional carrier in Southeast Asia. It was founded in 1956 as Hang Khong Vietnam. In April 1989 the airline was established as a state enterprise, and in 1996 Vietnam Airlines Corporation was formed, an amalgation of several service companies with the airline at its core.
The airline is building its long-haul network on Boeing 777-200ER airliners. The first Triple Seven was delivered in April 2003 and at the end of 2005 there were ten in service. The airline has its main bases at the airports of Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City. The photograph is taken at Frankfurt Rhein/Main Airport.
