Boeing 777-300ER - Emirates Airlines
Emirates was founded in 1985 and today flies an all-widebody fleet, including a fast growing number of Boeing 777-200 and 777-300 aircraft. Emirates operates from Dubai, one of the United Arab Emirates near the Persian Gulf.
During the Dubai Air Show in November 2005 Emirates Airlines signed an order for 42 additional Triple Sevens: 24 777-300ERs, 10 777-200LRs and 8 777F Freighters. Emirates also signed for the 'purchase rights' of 20 more. After delivery Emirates will be the largest 777-operator. Until that moment Emirates had already ordered a total of 51 Triple Sevens of which more than twenty were in service. The 42-aircraft order included the sale of the 777th 777 airliner.
Boeing delivered the first 777s to Emirates in 1997. The picture shows an Emirates 777-300ER approaching London Heathrow Airport.
