Ghana Airways

Ghana Airways was the former national airline of Ghana, but ceased operations in 2004, after being forbidden to fly to the USA because of safety concerns. The airline was established in 1958 and took over the services of West African Airline.

Ghana Airways flew a total of six DC-10-30s. The first aircraft (9G-ANA) was delivered in 1983 and it was the airline's only DC-10 for thirteen years. The other DC-10s entered the fleet between 1996 and 2003.

Ghana Airways flew the DC-10s on services to several points in Europe. The nicely coloured aircraft on the picture above is seen after landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The picture below shows a later livery on an aircraft at Düsseldorf.
